Vishwakarma Poojan

Vishwakarma Poojan is a Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect and engineer of the gods, who is believed to have created weapons, palaces, and tools for the deities. It is celebrated every year on 17th or 18th September, coinciding with Kanya Sankranti, and in some regions, it is observed after Diwali. On this day, artisans, engineers, craftsmen, factory workers, and professionals across various industries worship their tools, machines, and instruments, seeking blessings for efficiency, safety, and prosperity in work. Factories, workshops, and offices are decorated, and special pujas are organized where machines and equipment are honored. In many places, it is observed as a holiday from work, symbolizing gratitude towards the instruments that sustain livelihood. The festival not only carries religious significance but also highlights the cultural respect for skill, labor, and technology, reminding everyone of the importance of craftsmanship and innovation in daily life.
